After working several jobs in college involving children and adults with special needs, I realized providing this population with a means of communication was exactly where I needed to be. I went on to receive my Bachelor’s degree in child development and communication disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas. I then spent the next year working in ABA, which confirmed my passion of working with kids with autism. I went on to get my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the Abilene Christian University. After graduating, I spent two years at an ABA clinic working with kids with autism and learning how to cater my knowledge to each individual child.
I have always had a fascination with how children view the world and how they challenge me to think about the world differently. As I continue to gravitate towards working with kids who need my help to make their voice be heard, my love for this field continues to grow.
