I Love the Salvation Army!
That is one of the reasons I have volunteered to be a “bell ringer” the last two Christmas seasons.
The Salvation Army, located at 3528 E. 14th Street in Plano, has a wonderful outreach to the East Plano community. Everything from afterschool events, to Bible studies and worship services to a food pantry and financial aid for those in need. Captains Jason and Michelle Moore are ever eager to reach out with warmth and creativity, helping meet the needs of those who come their way.
I first met the Moores when looking for a potential day habilitation site for my son Sam, who has autism. They were quick to extend a welcome to the adults in this unique community based program! So, out of gratefulness for their willingness to serve the IDD population – as well as others in their neighborhood, I extend a great Holiday Thank you to the Salvation Army.
If you are interested in supporting this organization, or would like to get into the spirit of the season by ringing a bell, contact the 14th Street Salvation Army at 972-423-8254.
