I have always known that I wanted to work with children and make a difference in their lives. I grew up in southwest Missouri. I discovered occupational therapy while taking a health occupations class in high school and I fell in love! I could not think of a better career than to work/play all day as an OT.
I started my journey attending Ozarks Technical Community College and received my degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in 2017. I worked in several skilled nursing homes right after graduation, but I knew my heart was elsewhere. I decided to move to Dallas, Texas to expand my opportunities to work with children. I worked in outpatient pediatrics and home health pediatrics for 2 years before deciding to go back to school for my Master’s degree! I attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated with my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege to work with children and adults of all ages and a wide variety of diagnoses. I love working with children of all abilities and collaborating with families and other professionals to find creative and fun techniques to help children meet their goals and reach their fullest potential. I love that I can pursue my love for occupational therapy and expand my knowledge even more at Speech and Occupational Therapy of North Texas.
